Advantage Solutions on Monday announced significant investments in two nonprofits \u2014 the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and Feeding America \u2014 totaling $750,000.<\/p>\n
The two partnerships reflect Advantage\u2019s unwavering commitment to community engagement, which is centered on food security, economic mobility and well-being.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur partnerships with Feeding America and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis mark a transformative step in our mission to drive meaningful change within the communities we serve,\u201d said Advantage Solutions CEO Dave Peacock, a longtime St. Louis area resident and philanthropist.<\/p>\n
By partnering with Feeding America and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Advantage is embracing its purpose of connecting people with the products and experiences that enrich their lives. The investments will support initiatives in the St. Louis area where Advantage is headquartered and span across the country.<\/p>\n
These partnerships also underscore the company\u2019s long-term commitment to improving lives \u2014 a responsibility that continues to evolve alongside consumer and retail industry tren<\/strong>d<\/strong>s<\/strong> that reflect growing economic disparities and shifting community needs.<\/p>\n In St. Louis, Advantage is committing $500,000 to support the Urban League\u2019s Save Our Sisters program, which offers a range of services designed to help women overcome obstacles, including initiatives focused on mind and body wellness, healthy relationships, life skills, career development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and mentorship.<\/p>\n \u201cWith this generous donation from Advantage Solutions, we will be able to interrupt some patterns and some connections and some circumstances that are leading far too many women in the opposite direction of their true potential, and their true worth and value,\u201d said Carol Daniel, a prominent St. Louis journalist who now serves as director for Save Our Sisters. \u201cWe\u2019re going to be able to save lives.\u201d<\/p>\n Advantage is also donating $250,000 over two years \u2014 the equivalent of 2.5 million meals \u2014 to Feeding America\u2019s Food Security Equity Impact Fund, an expansion of the company\u2019s longstanding partnership with the nationwide network of food banks and meal programs.<\/p>\n With more than 47 million Americans facing hunger, including one in five children, the fund aims to address disparities in food access and improve food security nationwide. Since 2012, Advantage and its employees have contributed more than 4.1 million meals for families in need.<\/p>\n \u201cWith food insecurity on the rise, it\u2019s never been more important to have dedicated partners in the movement to end hunger. Together with Advantage Solutions, our partnership helps more people access the food and resources they say they need to thrive,\u201d said Lauren Biedron, Feeding America\u2019s senior vice president of corporate partnerships.<\/p>\n At its core, Advantage Solutions\u2019 Belonging & Impact strategy centers on three areas: community engagement, DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging), and ESG (environmental, social and governance).<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really exciting that we are able to truly invest in and operationalize having a meaningful and long-term impact in our communities,\u201d said Rebecca Grey, vice president of Belonging & Impact. \u201cPurpose drives performance.\u201d<\/p>\n Supporting women in the workforce is a particularly relevant focus \u2014 65% of Advantage\u2019s 70,000-person team identify as women.<\/p>\n Beyond financial contributions, Advantage employees are scaling their volunteer impact as well.
